Matthew 28:19-20 tells us “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.” The Lord placed this calling on the hearts of D & C 8 years ago. They took their young family and moved to Uruguay to minister to the wonderful people who live there, showing them the love of Christ and inviting many, many men, women and children into a saving relationship with the Savior of the World.
Leaving their Houston-area home meant leaving many things behind, including what most of us would call “creature comforts” and earthly possessions. Their hearts and minds were set on what was before them however, and not what they were leaving behind. They forged ahead with confidence and with joy in serving, knowing the Lord would provide for the needs of their family - and He did ... and He does!!
Due to the pandemic, they recently returned to Houston and secured housing, but had very little to furnish it with. They dreamed of a cozy home, one that would bless their 4 children and be a gathering place for many. D & C will, no doubt, seek God’s will as they ask him for fresh and wonderful ways to continue being ambassadors for Christ, both in Uruguay and here in the Houston area. The lovely furnishings that we were able to bless them with, thanks to our donors, will mean much more than creature comforts. They can throw open their door and welcome in family, friends and those they minister to - all the while praising God for his loving kindness, as they extend it to others - for His glory!
